Bio

Leif Baradoy in summer 2010Leif Baradoy is a triathlete. Born in Banff, Alberta, he currently trains in Victoria, BC—arguably the best training location in Canada for triathletes.

Leif signed up for his first triathlon in June, 2008. Needless to say, he has learned (and trained) a lot since then. In 2010, Leif received his international competition card, which allows him to race as an ITU athlete at the Continental Cup level. Leif will race as an elite athlete at the Canadian National Championships. In September, he will race at the ITU Age Group Triathlon World Championship in Budapest, Hungary.

Leif attends the University of Victoria, where he is working towards an MA in English Literature with a special, interdisciplinary concentration in Cultural, Social, and Political Thought. He is also a graduate student fellow at the Centre for Studies in Religion and Society. Leif’s (slightly) reduced course load allows him to excel at academics and sport. Laura, his wife, provides amazing support for all Leif’s activities.

Currently focused on short course triathlons, Leif eagerly anticipates competing in long course triathlons in the future.
